Marching Band

The Jimtown “Marching Jimmies” is our competitive marching band focusing on achieving excellence in numerous musical and visual skills.  Marching Band is a curricular class that rehearses both during and after school. Performances for this ensemble include Friday Night Football Games, community parades, and numerous ISSMA competitions.

Concert Band

The Jimtown concert band is comprised of 9th-12th graders whose focus is on musical achievement through concert band and wind ensemble literature. The concert band rehearses daily throughout the second semester. Performances for this ensemble include ISSMA Concert Band Organizational Contest, a spring concert, and graduation.

Pep Band

The Jimtown pep band is a voluntary ensemble focusing on providing fun, entertaining, and high-energy performances for girls' and guys' high school basketball games. Through this ensemble, students will learn to play a plethora of pop tunes, participate in over-the-top sports cheers, and enjoy the many basketball games throughout the season.

Jazz Band

Do you like jazz? The jazz band is a daily classroom ensemble that focuses on exploring the many different jazz styles as well as jazz improvisation. This group is a year-round ensemble that performs at the Christmas concert, ISSMA Jazz Contest, and The Jimtown Jazz Cafe.

Winter Guard

Do you have an interest in dance and visual expression? The Jimtown High School Winter Guard is a competitive performing arts group that focuses on the numerous color guard and dance skills used in today’s pageantry arts. This ensemble rehearses after school from November through March and competes/performs throughout the state in the Indiana High School Color Guard Association circuit.

Winter Percussion

The Jimtown Winter Percussion Ensemble is a competitive musical ensemble that focuses on exploring, refining, and maximizing their skills in the world of concert percussion. This ensemble rehearses after school from November to April and competes throughout the state in the Indiana Percussion Association circuit.

Junior High and Intermediate School

6th-8th Grade Band

The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands are our daily classroom music ensembles. During these classes, students will learn how to read music, play an instrument of their choice, and perform with their classmates at local concerts and contests.

Jazz Band

Jimtown Junior High Jazz Band is an optional after-school ensemble for our 7th and 8th grade musicians who are looking to dive into the jazz genre. While participating in this ensemble, students explore the swing, latin rock, and bossa nova musical styles. This ensemble performs at the ISSMA Jazz Band Contest and Jimtown Jazz Cafe.

Cadet Guard

Do you have an interested in dance and color guard? Cadet Guard is our beginning dance and flag group for 3rd through 5th graders. Students in this group learn basic dance and flag skills. They rehearse December through March and participate at multiple community performances and guard showcases throughout the area.
